Happy Hour Pre AutoCon Meet Coverage
The coordinators of the up and coming AutoCon Events held in Southern California decided to throw together a Pre Meet at the K1 Speed in Anaheim this year. The automotive social mixer included all the standard shenanigans, including food trucks, music and giveaways. Two notable additions to the festivities were the Go Karting events provided by K1 Speed, and the Virtual Time Attack Challenge presented by Race Room. The Pre Autocon Meet also provided a sneak peek into some of the more innovative and unique builds coming out of the So Cal region right now.
The new kid on the block, we’re guaranteed to see plenty of Scion’s popular FR-S model at the offcial AutoCon Los Angeles event. JDMZIPTIES was in attendance, and we look forward to seeing their photos of the event!
Some very impressive Accord builds showed up to the pre meet. Air Runner seemed to be the common theme among these builds, and for good reason. These Accords have some of the best suspension setups in So Cal.
This flock.. herd.. gaggle? of S2Ks showed up, as well as many others that filtered in and out throughout the day. Definitely a nice group of roadsters. All of them were unique and sported various wheel and tire setups as well as varying exterior mods.
The old kid on the block, the Honda Civic is still an amazing platform to work on regardless of chassis. We spotted quite a few 8thcivics as well as a 9thgen at the event. Lots of older gens showed up but we didn’t get a chance to shoot them because there were always crowds around them. That just goes to show you how popular the Civic has remained over the years.
A group of Datsuns showed up for the event as well. Timeless design and a classic engine roar make for a great choice when selecting a car to mod. Among the Datsuns sat a heavily modified S14, the younger nephew of the Z family. Last but certainly not least were a few Mistubishis and Mazdas who attended to maintain the balance and represent their marquee.
Given this glimpse into the AutoCon world, we’re eager to see what builds will be showing up for the Los Angeles, Seattle, and Miami events being held later this year. And let’s not forget the annual charity event that they hold to bring in donations for needy children during the holidays. Keep up the great work, AutoCon!
